Lavender sleep balm
What do you need?
- 30 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
- 30 drops of Ylang-Ylang Essential Oil
- 2 tablespoons of Coconut Oil
- 1 tablespoon of Jojoba Oil
- 3 tablespoons of Shea butter
- Wooden chopstick
- A small metal or glass tin
Boil a small saucepan of water and keep it over low heat. Melt the shea butter and add the essential oils. Next, add the coconut and jojoba oils. Using your wooden stick, mix in the oils until completely melted. High temperatures can degrade the effectiveness of essential oils, so be careful. Place the metal can or glass jar on a cookie sheet, then pour in the balm mixture. Be sure to use a towel to clean the jar when you remove it from the saucepan. Set the oil cans aside to cool, which should take 30 minutes to an hour. Once cool, screw the lid on and store in a cool place. This sleeping balm can last up to one year.
