Gut-boosting probiotic lemonade
This recipe features honey, which is packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals. It is also a powerful antibacterial and antimicrobial compound that can help your immune system. In addition, it is a gut-friendy prebiotic – aka food for prebiotics.
There is also an important ingredient in this lemonade, which is whey, a protein in milk that contains amino acids, vitamins, and miners, easy to digest and absorbed.
Last, but not least, lemon, of course, which is antioxidant-rich due to its content of vitamin C!
- 6 cups water
- 1 cup honey
- 1 cup lemon juice
- ½ cup fresh whey
- Dissolve the honey in the water – I usually warm the water first, make sure not to boil it, as it could interfere with the honey's compounds.
- Pour the lemon juice and way, and use an airtight bottle to store the lemonade.
- Let the lemonade sit at room temperature for 4 days, up to seven days.
- It will have become frizzy by then, and the more time you level it the sourer and more frizzy it will become.
- Add some ice and enjoy!
