  Smudging is part of my cleaning routine, I try doing it once a week. I feel it lifts the negativity of my house and I also love the scent of burning herbs. In fact, science has proved that smudging has antiseptic properties so it literally cleanses the air. 

Of course, you can resort to store-bought bundles, but you can definitely customize your own smudge sticks at home.

You can also adjust your herbs according to your needs, traditional smudging herbs are lavender, cedar, palo santo, rosemary, lemon balm, and white sage. You can add thyme cinnamon sticks, bay leaves and rosebuds if you feel like it.

  1. You can definitely use dried or fresh herbs if you grow them at home, I have a rosemary and lavender plant at home so I usually use them.
  2. To create the stick, gather your ingredients, for example, rosemary, lavender, rose petals and white sage, and bind them together with the thread or twine. 
  3. Let your bundle hang upside down under the sun and let it dry for at least 3 weeks.

Now you are ready to smudge with your own bundle!
