Aloe treats sunburn, irritation, and frostbite and refreshes the skin naturally.

Aloe gel contains multiple vitamins, such as vitamins A, C, and E, and has a high content of antioxidants. It is hydrating, astringent, and antibacterial as well. For all these reasons and more, it has become an essential ingredient in aesthetic treatments around the globe.

Aloe vera gel gets absorbed by the skin easily, making it ideal for all skin types. Its anti-inflammatory properties are perfect for those suffering from acne and those who have very sensitive skin.

What are the benefits of aloe vera for your skin?

It helps soothe sunburn. Aloe vera has cooling properties and it is also anti-inflammatory. These two things combined are what make it an all-time favorite when it comes to treating sunburn or burnt skin. And this is why aloe vera gel is a staple in any summer suitcase. Applying aloe vera gel creates a protective layer that helps your skin retain moisture. Rich in antioxidants and minerals, which also boost its regenerative properties.

It helps moisturize the skin. Unlike regular moisturizers, aloe vera gel does not leave a greasy film on your face or body. As a matter of fact, it does quite the opposite: aloe vera gel is a great way of unclogging your pores. You can use it as an aftershave cream because it will help keep your skin hydrated, at the same time it heals razor burns.

It fights skin aging. Aloe vera, as we mentioned before, is rich in vitamins C and E, and in beta-carotene. This makes it the perfect antiaging ally. It also contains antimicrobial properties and is anti-inflammatory. It also helps to eradicate skin blemishes and diminish age lines. Additionally, it helps to increase the production of collagen in the body and skin elasticity.

It reduces acne. Aloe vera is also a gentle cleanser, and its antimicrobial properties treat pimples without causing any damages to the skin. It is an antiseptic that allows protection against bacteria.

Aloe vera can be used in a myriad ways!

The benefits don't stop there. Aloe can be used in a myriad of ways: from simple toner to calming lotion to a de-puffing ice cube or even as a massage gel for the face, great for use with a jade roller.

To take full advantage of its properties and avoid the chemicals that are added to many cosmetic products, it is best to make a homemade aloe vera gel or cream with 100% natural ingredients.

1. Before removing the leaves, make sure the plant is well cared for and in good condition. To do this, water aloe once a day and make sure it gets enough light. Alternatively, you can get a leaf at a local store.

2. Cut the aloe vera leaves.

3. Carefully remove the lateral spines from the leaves.

4. Soak them for 24 hours. Every 4 hours, approximately, change the water. It doesn't need to be exactly 4 hours, do it when you have a moment for it. Having them in water helps to eliminate the aloin with toxic properties of the plant.

5. After 24 hours, take the leaves out of the water.
