Beware of the hidden cooking oils in a seemingly healthy meal. While the restaurant might use organic foods, they might be cooking it all in old, industrial oil.

Seed oils like canola or sunflower are more processed than others and contain high levels o polyunsaturated fatty acids. What does that imply? Tha the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants are lost and once you consume these types of oils, they are stored as body fat. To avoid consuming seed oils, ask the waiter to use olive oil or butter instead.

Instead of using already prepared salad dressings – packed with sodium and unnecessary chemicals – ask for vinegar and virgin olive oil.

Instead of using already prepared salad dressings – packed with sodium and unnecessary chemicals – ask for vinegar and virgin olive oil. Extra virgin olive oil is less processed than regular oils and they have antioxidants and minerals.

Just try to order whole foods that haven't been processed, pasta is a good option too, again, you can ask for some butter or olive oil and parmesan cheese instead of sauce.
