Let's face it, sugar is definitely tasty, and refined sugar can get extremely addictive. I often wonder whether regular sugar is that bad for you, what most experts agree on is that, as with everything in life, eating refined sugars every now and then is not extremely detrimental to your health, but the key is moderation, as consuming big amounts of it regularly can be dangerous for your health. There is another thing you have to bear in mind until you can actually admit you are a sugar addict, you won't be able to get rid of your sugar cravings.
You crave soft drinks, flavored coffee, iced tea and you feel like eating carbs regularly. If you suddenly feel like you need carbs such as baked goods, pasta, bread or chips, it might be a sign you are addicted to sugar.
Check yourself for phrases such as “Oh, it's just today," “I deserve it,” “I need to feel good,” "I'll have just a little,” all of these are excuses to validate your sugar addiction.
If you find yourself hiding sweets around the house, or you like to others about the number of sweets you eat, it might be a sign that your sugar addiction has gone too far.
Have you tried to reduce the amount of sugar you have, but instead, you experience, shaking, mood changes, you've experienced headaches, or insomnia, all these could be signs of withdrawal symptoms and you should address these feelings with a professional.
