If you are going for a glowy and natural complexion, face oils are all you need. Here's how to use them as a highlighter.
Whether you run out of your favorite highlighter, or you just don't want to put on any makeup and just go for a more natural look, a face oil will come in handy to make your complexion look and feel dewy and glowy.
I don't know about you, but after the pandemic, I just don't feel like applying a full coverage foundation, eyeshadow, highlighter and what have you.
That's when face oils make their entrance to my skincare and makeup routine.
Oils do not make your skin look greasy, contrary to what you might believe, it all depends on how you apply it.
How to highlight with natural oils
Step 1: You first need to choose a face oil that suits your skin, jojoba oil is great for dry skin and it is quite light. You can also use rosehip oil if you have a normal skin type. To avoid clogging pores if you have oily skin, grapeseed oil or argan oil is a good choice.
Step 2: Start by cleaning your face and preparing your skin, if you want to apply some foundation, go ahead, I prefer to add just a bit of concealer, SPF and the oil.
Step 3: Take a dime-sized amount of oil and warm it up on the back of your hand with your fingertips.
Step 4: Dab the the oil only to the high points of your face, the cheekbones, bridge of your once, brow bones and a bit above your lips. And shine on!
