We think of facials as a fun and relaxing form of self-care, something similar to a bath and candles ritual. But how often should you be doing it?
We know that it is much better to prevent rather than doing corrective treatments in the future. But is there such a thing like too many facials?
What is a facial?
A facial has the following steps: cleansing, steaming, exfoliating, extractions of comedones, mask, and application of serums. Some might include microdermabrasion, chemical peel, or light therapy. Now, how often should you be getting a facial depends on many factors.
Frequency of facials
Why you are getting a facial in the first place is crucial to deciding how often you should get a facial. People who suffer from severe acne should get a facial once a week until they see results and every four or six weeks after that. If, on the other hand, you are concerned with anti-aging and hydration, once a month or once every three months depending on your skin type.
If you can’t get a facial once a month, you should at least go once a season to help skink changes and product effectiveness. When it comes to skin, you have to be consistent and patient. The results cannot be seen overnight, remember it takes time for your skin to react to the treatments.
