All to know about hair rebonding

Smooth, straight, and sleek hair, if you have curly hair like me, seems like something unachievable.

Hair rebounding is a chemical treatment that will give you a straight texture. It breaks the bonds and rebuilds them to change the structure of the hair. A single treatment is supposed to last up to seven months and you can touch up your roots the first three months after the treatment.

The treatment will take anywhere between 3 and 8 hours depending on your length and hair density. It is similar to other strengthening treatments, a relaxant is applied to your hair and left for some time, then your hair is steamed, blow-dried and then a keratin lotion is applied for another 30 minutes. Then your hair will be rinsed and blow-dried.

The main difference with Japanese hair straightening is that there is no formaldehyde in rebounding treatments

Is hair bonding safe?

The main difference with Japanese hair straightening is that there is no formaldehyde in rebounding treatments.

As with any other treatment that involves chemicals there are side effects such as breakage and scalp irritation and over time you right experience hair loss- Make sure you find a professional that is responsible to minimize the potential damage
